Bulldozers and tower cranes spotted in Houthalen-Helchteren!
With the arrival of bulldozers and tower cranes the construction of the new administrative centre in Houthalen-Helchteren has started. Futureproofed is partner of Holistic Architecture and has calculated the carbon footprint of the present municipality services. Using these results our team has advised the architects in obtaining the lowest footprint possible for this innovative building with its surprising architecture (check out the pictures!).
This low-energy building is a first step in the ambitious plans of the municipality. Together we have formulated a legislature exceeding carbon reduction roadmap to reduce all CO2 emissions by 90% in an efficient and profitable way by 2050. A unique project in Belgium, and it is happening here.
Futureproofed will now provide technical assistance and recommendations on communication to employees and inhabitants until the grand opening of the new administrative centre in 2012. We will keep you posted on this exciting project.
