Project features

The construction of a brand new zero energy house in Lennik has started. Futureproofed coordinated the design process of this passive house, offering advice on the construction process and the materials and techniques, according to the principles of whole system design. We have made the PHPP calculations and will coordinate the passive house certification.

It is a timber frame house, and environmentally friendly materials are used for insulation and finishing. The house is designed for 4 people, and there is also room for an office. Home and office have an inner surface of 323m². The office is located in the basement, where natural light is provided by a ramp in perforated steel. The techniques and sanitary functions are located in a concrete box in the middle. The house has a flat roof to facilitate installation of solar panels.
The following techniques will be applied for heating and ventilation: balance ventilation with heat recovery, a earth heat exchanger and an air source heat pump.
