Lore Vantomme (1984) is an architectural engineer, graduated in 2007.
Amongst other things, Lore is interested in lightness: reducing materials and energy use in buildings, by making informed holistic design choices.
She's also striving to make today's world more sustainable in many other ways in areas such as low impact, veggie food and sustainable mobility.

Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Brussel (B), 2007-2008: Phd Researcher
Main activities and responsibilities
After completing her studies in architectural engineering, Lore started a Phd-project on the optimisation of architectural free-form structures. The aim of the project was to reduce the amount of material used to build this kind of structures. In order to achieve this, slight changes in the form suggested by the designer were analised. By conducting the forces in the structure in a more natural way, the material-use was to be optimised.
